WHAT IS LESIGNATURE MASSAGE?
Le Signature Massage is a fundamental of relaxation massage which incorporates a unique combination between Eastern and Western massage methods. It also delicately blends the use of deep breathing, aromatherapy, along with complementing touch and other external senses of sight, sound, smell and taste. These elements altogether will break-down tension and harmonise the body, sending you into a deep state of relaxation and completely stress free.
THERE ARE SOME MAIN MASSAGE TECHNIQUES IN WESTERN THERAPY
Effleurage: long, gliding strokes directed towards the heart. Used to increase circulation, apply massage lubricant and transition between strokes. Primarily used at the beginning of a massage.
Petrissage: kneading strokes used to increase circulation, loosen adhesions and release metabolic waste from tissues.
Friction: strokes that move across tissues. Used to increase circular friction, break up scar tissues and adhesions, and stretch muscles. Examples include circular friction, cross-fiber friction, and compression.
Tapotement: percussion strokes used to increase muscle spindle activity, which stimulates the body, and loosens phlegm from the respiratory tract. Examples include hacking, cupping and tapping.
Vibration: trembling or shaking movements. Fast vibration is used to stimulate one area. Slow vibration is used to sedate the area.
Nerve stroke: extremely light form of effleurage.
THERE ARE SOME MAIN TECHNIQUE IN EASTERN THERAPIES:
Pressure point: can help relieve pain, improves circulation and channels the flow of energy.
Rocking: The massaged part is manipulated in gentle or vigorous, rhythmic movements. Rocking reflexively relaxes tight muscles and often used to treat clients with joint problems, osteoarthritis and tight muscles.
Skin rolling: This petrissage technique lightens the skin between the thumb and fingers and is gently rolling over the area, very slowly. Skin rolling allows a release in the superficial restrictions between the skin and underlying tissues.
Compression: The compression technique is used to relieve tightness in the muscles. Compressions can enhance the stretch reflex in the muscles. A rhythmic compression technique into the muscles also creates deep hyperemia in the tissues. Hyperaemia is the increase of blood flow in the blood vessels.
