WHAT IS TENNIS ELBOW?

Tennis elbow is the swelling of tendons that connect the muscles of the forearm and the elbow. Pain can be felt on the outside of the elbow. Despite its name, normal people can get tennis elbow due to regular gripping activities.

WHAT CAUSES TENNIS ELBOW?

People that do some jobs and have some hobbies such as carpentry, typing, painting, raking, knitting, etc can suffer tennis elbow due to repetitive arm movements or gripping.

WHAT ARE COMMON TENNIS ELBOW SYMPTOMS?

Although tennis elbow is caused by injuries of the elbow, it still accounts for pains felt when doing things with the hands such as lifting, gripping something, opening a door, shake hands, raising your arms or straightening your wrist.

WHAT TREATMENTS ARE RECOMMENDED TO REDUCE TENNIS ELBOW?

WHAT SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF I HAVE TENNIS ELBOW?

  • Avoid using wrong equipment that is too heavy or oversize
  • Avoid overusing your arm
  • Avoid using your wrist and elbow more by spreading the load to the larger muscles of the shoulder and upper arm.
  • Avoid doing the activities that is causing pain or find an alternative way that does not cause pressure on the tendons.
